VIOME (Cooperative Workers of Industrial Mining)

Our engagement with society is our greatest asset! We not only value but actively seek a dynamic connection with the younger generation. Beyond the fact that many young individuals work in our factory, we also host a weekly assembly known as the ''VIOME Solidarity Initiative''. This assembly primarily attracts young people, but is open to all, and serves as a platform for us. the workers of VIOME, to exchange ideas and address issues within the framework of social responsibility and oversight that we aim to uphold. Moreover, we aspire to make our factory a community hub, frequently offering our space for a variety of projects. These include exhibitions, theater, music and dance rehearsals, performances, and even the shooting of music videos. Also, many artists, local and European, have made our factory wonderful and colorful, by make murals along the factories walls. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we take great joy in the fact that when we organize festivals, our factory comes alive with a diverse crowd, especially newcomers. This interaction with the community is that truly fuels our passion and commitment!

Our establishment, the VIOME factory, functions under the principles of worker-controlled and self-governance through our assembly. Every employee participates with equal rights and responsibilities. We take pride in producing goods that are environmentally friendly, cruelty-free, and safe for human use. Our products are designed to be affordable and accessible to everyday families. All of this is achieved through transparent, democratic processes and under the watchful eye of social oversight.

Our objective is to operate and produce autonomously, without the need for hierarchical management and bosses. We strive to live and work in solidarity, with our sights set on creating a better world. The driving force behind our efforts is the power of collective struggle, which truly turns the gears of progress.

Through the operation of VIOME, our aim is to demonstrate that, despite the challenges, there exist an alternative and sustainable work model, as well as an alternative way of life, grounded in principles of equality, solidarity, and respect for both individuals and the environment. Also, through the exist of this factory, it became possible to keep jobs, which otherwise, would had been lost.
