EKATO has implemented many projects involving young people from rural areas

The Hellenic Consumer Association (EKATO) of Florina was founded in 2001 and is a non-profit association. It is a member of the Panhellenic Federation of Consumer Associations (POMEK) and a member of the National Register of Consumer Associations. The purpose of the association is to protect the interests of the consumer public and the protection of the following fundamental rights of the consumer

The main goal is to protect the interests of the consumer public and their rights.

EKATO is a voluntary organisation which has no permanent staff and is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors elected by the General Assembly of members.
All actions required to implement initiatives and programmes are based on the voluntary contribution and participation of young people. All these young people have participated in at least one European programme under the Youth in Action and Erasmus+ programmes in another EU country. This experience has been the main motivation for their further involvement and participation in local and other events.
